The retail industry in the Covid-19 pandemic: what opportunity from the AR?

The rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus has drastically changed people’s lives (Laato et al., 2020) and destabilized the global economy. The consequences of the pandemic outbreak affected different sectors of society in different ways (Donthu & Gustafsson, 2020; Laato et al., 2020) From a customer point of view, the lockdown and social distancing (Wilder-Smith and Freedman, 2020) limited the choice of the place to shop in terms of “location constraint and location shortage” (Sheth, 2020, p.281). Moreover, there were changes in mobility, working and shopping towards a home consumption.
