Distretti e internazionalizzazione. Il caso delle Marche

This contribution resorts to an original approach to deal with the progress of the local systems/structures of a region – the Marche – a representative model of widespread territorial development. One particularly considers how local and district systems/structures, which evolve in size and location, distinguish themselves within the processes of internationalisation.

If you think of globalisation as integration between areas, economies, then the competitiveness of a system cannot be seen only through the capacity to place products and services on foreign markets, but also in the capacity to optimise, contemporarily, the placing of the output with the employment of the input from the outside.

The report reveals, to this regard, evidence of research on the level of growth of the local systems of the region with some company characteristics and the changes that apply to them in terms of location.
