Into the current economic context, regional innovation systems are particularly important to achieve national policy objectives in terms of innovation and also because those performances can contribute to improving the overall economic competitiveness of regions, by increasing enterprises productivity.
This paper – once considered the general characteristics of local innovation and internationalization systems – will analyze the Piedmont regional context in order to assess their efficiency, with a particular focus on governance and finance issues, providing a weakness elements analysis and outlining possible insights for future improvement.
