Networks and new communication technologies in industrial districts of northeast Italy
The paper discusses the evolution of Italian local production systems as well as solutions and models of the diffusion of information and communication technologies in them. The article is based on an in-depth empirical analysis of a number of industrial districts in the northern-east Italy. The goal is twofold: on the one side, to study the diffusion of technological innovation among SMEs; on the other side, to consider policies that can support the diffusion of ICTs in local economic systems.
