Sul carattere empirico o teorico degli studi economico-aziendali. Un'analisi di contributi sulle relazioni non competitive
An important aspect of the debate about research methodology regards the prevailing empirical versus theoretical nature of management studies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the methodological approach (empirical, theoretical, mixed) that Italian management scholars mostly adopt compared to their foreign colleagues. The study is carried out through the review of a set of papers selected from a sample of journals that deal with the non-competitive relationships both within a firm (internal environment) and between firms (external environment). The articles selected are positioned in a framework that takes into account research purpose and approach as the two key variables useful for interpreting the different streams of research.
