Does culture matter for Social Innovation? Investigating the role of national culture for the generation of social innovation

Chiara Cannavale, Lorenza Claudio, Michele Simoni

Today, scholars widely recognize culture as a critical factor in innovation (Tian et al., 2018). However, this topic is still debated and there is still no complete agreement among researchers on how culture specifically influences innovation. Empirical studies also show mixed results. Building on this literature, our study aims to understand the potential impact of culture on a particular type of innovations, namely social innovations (SI).
